At these local Christmas markets around Brisbane, you will find everything from ceramics to art and vintage wares. Here's where to make Christmas shopping a feel-good experience – and with many of these markets kicking off in November, you can get your gifts sorted early. 

Wynnum Christmas Market | Wynnum Views

Make headway on your gift giving more than a month out from Christmas. At the Wynnum Christmas Market, 25 local businesses are popping up with all the Christmas essentials: cards, gifts, kids’ clothing, Christmas puddings and homemade food.

Brisbane Fair Trade Christmas Market | QSAC

You know that warm and fuzzy feeling you get from giving a gift? It’s even warmer and fuzzier when you know the gift has been made ethically. The annual Fair Trade Christmas Market takes place out at QSAC stadium, where products have been sourced from as far as Palestine, Nepal and Cambodia.

Brisbane Etsy Made Local Market | Brisbane Showgrounds

Etsy has been a game changer for small artisans who make interesting things. And while it’s fun to shop online, there’s nothing like meeting the maker and being able to see their objects in person before buying. Head along to the Christmas Etsy Made Local Market to meet Brisbane’s tribe of Etsy makers, shop for vintage wares and pick up a new skill at a craft workshop.

23–24 November

Christmas Festival | Brisbane Powerhouse

As festive fever sets in, Brisbane Powerhouse will be the backdrop of a Christmas twilight shopping and picnic event on weekend evenings. Together with homemade wares and food, Christmas Festival also offers wreath-making workshops, cocktail pit-stops and live music.

30 November to 16 December

Paddington Christmas Fair | Given & Latrobe Terraces

It’s all about community spirit at the Paddington Christmas Fair, with local stores staying open late for shopping amid a buzzing atmosphere. In-store events, kids music performances and bubble fun are all on the agenda.

Brisbane Christmas Markets | King George Square

These markets prove it is possible to shop locally in the CBD. Organised by BrisStyle, the annual Brisbane Christmas Markets only sells products handmade in Brisbane. Live music sets the tone for the convivial market, which also hosts free craft workshops.

1 December

Meeanjin Markets | Reddacliff Place

Truly special gifts have a story behind them, and that's what you will find at Meeanjin Markets. The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artisan market is a chance to shop for authentic Indigenous art, craft, foods and more, and there is a cultural program of dance, music and workshops happening too.

7–8 December

Christmas on Cribb | Cribb Street, Milton

This special evening event by Milton Markets will see you shopping as live entertainment plays in the background. At Christmas on Cribb you can pick up handmade gifts as well as fresh Christmas-esque produce, and then retire to the pop-up bars.

A Handmade Christmas | State Library of Queensland

If you can’t make the market in King George Square, you will also find BrisStyle makers at State Library of Queensland for A Handmade Christmas. For the heartfelt gift-giver, this market is a celebration of local, sustainable and handmade wares to treasure. And if you can't make it to SLQ, BrisStyle will also be hosting a pop-up market and Christmas Wonderland at Westfield Garden City over the same weekend.

8 December

Museum Twilight Markets | The Workshops Rail Museum

At this market you will shop as the sun sets, and then be able to take a torchlight museum tour. The Workshops Rail Museum is presenting this twilight market together with BrisStyle – a collective of local designers and craftspeople. These markets also have live entertainment and food trucks.

Twilight Christmas Market | Carseldine Markets

Forget late-night shopping at malls. At Carseldine's Twilight Christmas Market, you can shop under the stars instead. Visit to unearth unique gift ideas, meet local artisans, stock up on produce and have a crack at making your own decorations – all two weeks out from the big day.

Christmas Design Market | GOMA 

GOMA's annual Christmas Design Market will have you covered for gifts that will be the talk of the Christmas tree; even if you've left your shopping to the last minute. The market is curated by the gallery, so you are bound to find something for art and design lovers.
