Brisbane Comedy Festival releases 2018 line-up

Find yourself in a month-long fit of laughter as 70 comedians assemble for the Brisbane Comedy Festival. Happening from 23 February to 25 March, the festival will present everything from hip-hop to sketches and improvisation.

If you’ve ever wondered what frustrates a matador the most or pondered the intricacies of feminist Latino 1970s art, you’ll find yourself in hilarious like-minded company at the Brisbane Comedy Festival. Comedians are flying in from across the country and the world, ready to set stages across the city alight with hilarity.

Highlights on the massive bill include the Brisbane Comedy Festival Gala hosted by Mel Buttle with Matt Okine, Luke Heggie, Becky Lucas and Demi Lardner. This year marks 30 years of comedy for Jeff Green and he’s planned a special show to celebrate, and it will all kick off with US comedian Jim Gaffigan as he makes his anticipated Brisbane debut.

Returning favourites include Stephen K Amos, Jimeoin, Wil Anderson, Dave Hughes, Joel Creasey, Urzila Carlson, Nazeem Hussain and Tom Gleeson. After Hours is also back, for a cheap fix of comedy.

Here’s the full line-up for our annual month of comedy.
